Leadership books and other thought provoking material have made all the difference in my life. It’s easy to settle into a routine and accept the status quo and that’s exactly the trap I fell into for much of my adult life. The revolutionary results of my awakening and subsequent journey of growth, is a powerful motivating force that drives me to never stop thinking and reinventing principles and concepts that lead to paradigm shifts in my own mind. Everyday I ask myself the question, what am I missing ? Truth and realities exist. Nobody owns it, nobody can change it. God set the worlds and planets spinning on their axis along with the principles and truths that govern the existence of all things. The more you understand and take ownership of them the more knowledge you have. The closer your worldview and belief structure is to the truth that actually is, the more true success you will experience in your life. Oh, and once you do actually take ownership of more “truth”, I think it will very likely change the way you define success. To some, success can be measured by how much cash you have in the bank, but true success I believe can be found in how much happiness and depth of fulfillment you feel in your heart.
Having a natural ability and desire to share, makes speaking a very natural activity for me. I make no pretentions to be an accomplished speaker but I have had a number of invitations to speak at Chamber of Commerce meetings, local venues at colleges, schools and trade associations etc., and I’m always happy to accommodate as my schedule permits. Having applied many leadership principles successfully in my business career over many years now gives me a unique platform to share concepts and points of value from my own experiences. Having travelled the globe pioneering a global enterprise out of nothing, I truly share the heart of an entrepreneur who has risked everything and given of my heart and soul to assemble a really special group of people who have done the extraordinary. I have entirely unique concepts around how to derive maximum motivation from the human spirit. I’m not a deep thinker and I’m forced to create very simple tracks to run on. I find value in taking things that are very complex and simplifying them so that I can really own the material. We learn by listening, reading and writing, but we own concepts and truth by practicing, failing, succeeding, implementing, doing, and repetition of all of the above. Book smarts only converts to street smarts when you apply and practice the concepts within the scope of duty you find yourself in each day. I find some of my best learning experiences occur when I take the time to daily reflect over what happened that day and the lessons I can learn from how things went or didn’t go. To that end, I started producing “Hog Casts”. A weekly two minute message to myself and to any who may find such material useful in their own life. I hope you find them useful should you choose to listen. Then, if you learn something, share something with someone else. Remember, we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
I love sharing my experiences and life lessons with others that may be traveling a similar path and have dreams yet unrealized. Dreams are free, making them a reality is not. I believe that adding value to others is the key to your own success.
